Rule 7
Sample collection, testing and monitoring

(1) The head of the office should regularly check and monitor to prevent the spread of bird flu. (2) If there is a suspicion that a bird has contracted bird flu in an area or place or a bird has died due to bird flu, or if information is received through any means that bird flu has appeared, the head of the office may carry out necessary investigations in that regard and do the following:-
(a) collecting specimens of any bird from any bird habitat, bird farm, hatchery, market, cage, wetland or other place, and
(b) If there is a possibility of bird flu, test of the collected sample - Until the report is received, the consumption, sale, distribution, use and transportation of any bird, bird product, bird product material and other related things from such area or through such area shall be prohibited.
(3) The sample collected as per sub-rule (2) shall be sent to the nearest laboratory for testing.
(4) In the laboratory of the sample obtained according to sub-rule (3) - if it is possible to have bird flu during the preliminary test, such sample should be further tested immediately and the office shall inform the province's Animal and Poultry and Fisheries, Development Directorate and the department through the means of communication.
(5) If bird flu is confirmed by additional tests as per sub-rule (4), the office shall prepare a report with the results of the tests obtained as soon as possible and send it to the department through fast communication means.
